William's Work
WILLIAM RODDY, more sculptor than furniture designer, has always attempted to infuse his work with a sense of form and detail that allows his pieces to be more than just functional. Working closely with a client, William develops each commissioned piece via a series of drawings until both he and the client are pleased. This collaboration results in each completed piece successfully fitting into the client's environment while still maintaining William's design approach.

William's sculpture, while rooted in the figure, has recently strayed into a more 'narrative' direction. There is the 'snow circle' series - an ongoing exploration of the relationship between geometry and nature and the 'door' series - a group of steel sculptures that requires the viewer to define their understanding of each piece through/and because of their viewing position.
